Throughout the summer, which is considered to last from the end of the fantasy season until the league is prepared on Yahoo for the next season, the systems outlined on this page will be used to process waiver claims and free agent signings.
[edit] Waivers
Waiver claims will be sent to an e-mail box that will be checked by the commissioner on a weekly basis. The commissioner will not check on the e-mail until the time that the waiver requests are being sorted out.
Players that are cut will be on waivers for a period of 7-13 days. The players are on waivers for a period of two Sundays. A player who is cut on a Monday would be on waivers for 13 days, while a player cut on a Sunday would be on waivers for 7 days. Claims will be processed every Sunday. Waiver claims for the immediate-next Sunday must be received (time-stamped e-mail) by 11:59 pm Central Time on Saturdays.
You may only make waiver claims for players during the last Sunday to Saturday period before the player would become a free agent should he go unclaimed. Each Sunday, after the waiver claims are processed, a list of players who may be claimed from waivers in the upcoming week will be posted.
Using a waiver claim in the summer affects a team's waiver priority number just as it does during the season, and that number will be carried into the start of season.
Players who go unclaimed become free agents at 9 pm Central Time on the Monday following their final day on waivers.
Team's may have no more than 5 waiver claims pending at any time. Additional waiver claims beyond a 5th will be considered illegal and thrown out.
If you have more than one waiver claim pending, underneath each claim beyond the first you must include a ranking of all of your waiver claims for the week.
If you make sending illegal waiver claims a habit, disciplinary action may be taken.
[edit] Waiver Request Procedure
To make a waiver claim, you must follow this format exactly. Failure to do so will result in the voiding of your waiver request.
To make your claim, send an e-mail to ignhlcommish@gmail.com with a subject of "Waiver Request" The body of the e-mail must be formatted like the following example:
dquigley (your ign name)
Claims D Adam Foote (player whom you wish to claim) to the active roster. (choose active or farm)
Cuts D Jeff Finger (player whom you wish to cut, if necessary).
Below is an example of a ranking list for teams with multiple claims in a single week:
1. Foote for Finger
2. Parker for Fukufiji
You may only include one request per e-mail. If one e-mail contains multiple requests, the e-mail will be deleted and none of the requests from that e-mail will be valid. If your waiver claim would put your team over the maximum allowed roster size at the time waiver claims are checked, your claim will be thrown out.
You may send an e-mail to change your waiver request rankings for the week, though the same deadline applies. Send that e-mail to the same address, with the same subject, and only include your ranking list in the body.
[edit] Free Agency
Free agency transactions, if legal, are considered to be effective immediately, regardless of when the commissioner processes them. Your transaction will be officially processed in the league spreadsheet as soon as the commissioner has the time to do so, but no later than the next waiver claim processing.
If you make an illegal free agency signing (which includes, but is not limited to: signing a player owned by another team, signing an IGNHL ineligible player, going over the legal roster size), the transaction will be voided. If you make illegal free agency signings a habit, disciplinary action may be taken.
[edit] Free Agent Signing Procedure
To sign a free agent in the summer, simply post the move you want to make in the transactions thread.
Your post must be formatted as follows: TeamName releases (if necessary) D Jeff Finger, and signs D Adam Foote to the active (or farm) roster.
You are not allowed to edit your posts which include a free agent signing in the transaction thread for any reason. Allowances will be made for typos and small formatting errors. Posts that are edited will not be considered official transactions.
Please check the Player List first to make sure the player you want to sign is not already owned.
You may only sign one free agent per post.
