Farm Team Management Rules

The rules on this page must be followed precisely. Personal ignorance will not change the penalties in any way. Breaking the rules laid out on this page will result in disciplinary action.
The rules on this page cover farm team signings, releases, promotions to active roster, and demotions from the active roster to the farm team.
In order to use Yahoo's waiver system during the season, the IGNHL will be using proxy players to represent owned farm team players in all cases in which the farm player is not in the Yahoo fantasy hockey database. Each farm team player not in the database will be assigned a specific proxy player who the DCM considers to be of no value at the time. Should the proxy player become a worthwhile asset in the future, a new proxy player will be selected to represent the farm player.
Using proxy players enables each team to represent their entire roster, including farm team, on Yahoo. In addition to making signings, teams may trade their farm team players through Yahoo.
Farm team players may NEVER be placed anywhere but the bench. This includes days in which the farm player's team doesn't even have a game. If you illegally place a farm team player in the starting lineup, regardless of any outcome, you will be penalized

Farm Team Free Agency or Waiver Signings
Using a Proxy Player (Farm player previously owned)
- Check the Proxy Player List to find the proxy player representing the player you want to sign
- Sign the player on Yahoo
- Immediately post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers sign F Darren Haydar, represented by F/D/G Proxy Player, to the Farm Team
F/D/G Released Player (if necessary), represented by F/D/G Released Proxy Player (if necessary), was released.
Using a Proxy Player (Farm player never owned)
- Select an unused proxy player from the list
- Sign the player on Yahoo
- Immediately post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers sign F Darren Haydar, represented by F/D/G Proxy Player, to the Farm Team
F/D/G Released Player (if necessary), represented by F/D/G Released Proxy Player (if necessary), was released.
Farm Player in Database
- Sign the player on Yahoo
- Immediately post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers sign F Darren Haydar to the Farm Team
F/D/G Released Player (if necessary), represented by F/D/G Released Proxy Player (if necessary), was released.
Farm Team Releases, no new player signed
Using a Proxy Player
- Drop the Player on Yahoo
- Immediately post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers release F Darren Haydar, represented by F/D/G Proxy Player, to waivers.
Farm Player in Database
- Drop the Player on Yahoo
- Immediately post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers release F Darren Haydar to waivers.
Farm Team Promotions to Active Roster
- Post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers promote F Darren Haydar from the farm team to the active roster.
F/D/G Player Name (if necessary) was released/demoted
- You may now use the promoted player in your starting lineup on Yahoo.
You must post in the thread first. If the timestamps show you did not post before using the promoted player in your starting lineup, you will be penalized.
Active Roster Demotion to Farm Team
- Post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers send F Darren Haydar from the active roster to the farm team.
F/D/G Player Name (if necessary) was / cut from the team / promoted to the active roster.
- The demoted player may no longer be placed in the starting lineup.
- As stated in the CBA, players sent down cannot be called up for seven days full days. The week extends from the date the player is sent down, a player sent down on a Monday is not eligible to be called up again until the following Monday.
Replacing a Proxy Player with the Actual Player
It is up to the individual teams to keep an eye out for when their farm players are added to the Yahoo database. When you see one of your farm team players that has a proxy player in his place is now in the database, you may cut the proxy player and sign the actual player.
- Post in the transactions thread in the following format:
The Las Vegas High Rollers signed F Darren Haydar, who no longer requires a proxy player.
This type of move does not count towards a team's 2 farm team signings limit
Penalties
Illegally placing a farm team player into the starting lineup has the potential to significantly disrupt the league standings and potentially even change who wins a season. For these reasons, the penalties for doing so, even accidentally, must be harsh.
If you illegally place a farm team player into your starting lineup on Yahoo, even if the farm player accumulates no stats or doesn't even have a game that night, your maximum games played will be reduced. The commissioner will keep track of these penalties manually.
These are the minimum penalties you will receive:
- On the first offense, you will lose 2 games played at that position. For example, if you illegally started a LW, you would only be allowed to make 162 starts total at LW, reduced from 164.
- On the second offense, you will lose 5 games played at that position.
- On the third offense, you will lose 15 games played at that position. You will also be locked from making roster changes for the remainder of the year, and you will have an expulsion hearing with the Disciplinary Committee
All penalties are cumulative if necessary
- If you go over your new maximum games played amount (If you were penalized to only have 159 starts at LW and you go over that number), you will automatically be expelled from the league. This includes any possible situation, even if your first offense was on your 164th LW start, which would penalize you to 162 maximum games played and in turn automatically expel you from the league.
